This is the Deal

Very simple. Bed and board in return for looking after our gardens with us.

We have a house garden with tunnel, a half-acre for potatoes and other main crops, and a quarter-acre walled garden with large tunnel for vegetables, flowers and fruit.

This opportunity is for people interested in lifestyle rather than production. We try to live self-sufficiently and only sell our surplus.

Remote island, 10 miles from mainland. Daily ferry sailings. 800 people live there. The Gaelic language is the first language of the islanders. Dara and Tess are both from Dublin but have lived there almost 30 years.

Normally, only one volunteer stays with us and we only take volunteers for the months March to October inclusive. The volunteer lives in a separate apartment with his/own facilities for cooking and washing. We live next door and are a family of six.

What Else

We welcome people in particular whose lives are in transition and who need a place where that transition can be made in safety and with support. We are experienced mentors for such people.
